As the spring of 2022 arrived another visit around Crewe Basford Hall was on the cards. At this time Freightliners new orange house colours were being applied to the class 90's and the former Greater Anglia examples in white were on borrowed time before the orange paint. At this point the vast numbers of stored Freightliner 86's had a very uncertain future as well. Of extra interest as well as the usual Freightliner traction, Colas Railfreight 56090 and 56051 could be found in the yard, the latter a recent addition to the Colas fleet.
