Whispers of the past on the line, more so at Eridge than Tunbridge Wells. Though at the former the lines old route into town isclear Eridge, with it's remoteness and obvious signs of what was once a larger scale station, made for thought, though a plesant area, and The Huntsmen pub nearby equally welcoming.

More whispers from the past locomotive wise, what feels not so long ago actually now is, that is a grubby Civil Engineers 37 with Transrail Branding in this case, once a common sight, often forgotten, and a RFD class 33, again, from the period of the late 1980's and early 1990's.

While 37254 was playing a ghost in itself, pretending to be 37153, a 37 which in 2001 was sent by EWS to Wigan and was partly stripped, lost it's wheelsets, was bought by HNRC, breifly rebogied but was then stripped and scrapped. While 33063 also carried, one of three headboards worn by the locomotives during the day, that, suited for Halloween, the Grim Reaper. Adding to a sightly ghostly feel of what, even in the 1990's was, has now largely changed railway.
