The not so commonly seen former DBS locomotives hiding in Cumbria in Preservation at both the Eden Valley Railway and those at Kirkby Stephen East.

A load of class 37's to start with, EWS 37042 having recently entered preservation, this was the last 37/0 to remain with DBS and since Jan 2005 has been hiding at Doncaster TMD. While former France hire and latterly Tyne Yard resident since 2001 Transrail Grey 37250 also at the line.

Kirkby Stephen East sees Transrail 37674, another stored in Jan 2005 and was hiding up at Motherwell TMD prior to entering preservation. EWS 47785 also at the site was a long term stored Motherwell locomotive since late 2003. Civil Engineers 37146 at the line, like 37250, is the other remaining former long term Tyne Yard resident that also went to France.

31210 and a Green 20 are at Kirkby Stephen East, the 31 not showing many signs of its former Regional Railways livery.

The Eden Velly Railway hosting two SWT 'slamdoor' CEP's that were once very common in my area of the SWML, 2311 and 2315 were available to ride in and also on site at the line was a thumper and a pair of DMU driving vehicles.

Both lines are for now are quieter than most preserved railways, and are getting set up as it were, though both are worth a visit for the locomotives that often people forget.
