DRS once again providing locomotives for this charter. Of which 37194 and 37688 were welcome choices as were 37069 and 37038. Former Fastline now DRS 66302 also saw use on the tour with 66420, and 57011 worked with 57007 also powering on the charter. Generally some good photo opportunities, Derby and Carnforth being ideal. Carlisle was fine apart from the arrival of the tour in plat 1 while plat 3 was annoyingly vacant. Never the less a fun day out. 47783 joined the train at Carnforth and some of WCRC's 47's are also pictured.
The tours route was from Birmingham to Derby, where I joined, then the 37's took charge via Crewe and Blackburn to Carlisle, for a pair of 66's to work to Carnforth via the Cumbrian coast and Sellafield (such fun, everyone was so radient) with the second pair of 37's taking over for the return via Sheffield and Chesterfield to Derby, where I departed, and onwards to Birmingham.
